In Russia today - Shmuel Kunda - The Daring Disguise

In Russia today
It's a great place to stay
If you like catching snowflakes from above
In Russia they say
It's a nice summer day
If you wear two fur coats and woolen gloves

Your car doesn't go
Cause it's buried in snow
And twenty below is a nice warm breeze
If you say hello
To someone you know
In the middle of the air your words will freeze

You groan, you moan
There's no dial-tone
You shake the receiver with your fist
You feel alone
No sound in your phone
Cause phone lines in Russia don't exist

And then at night
You wonder where's the light
It's so very dark you just can't see
It's not your sight
So don't get a fright
Cause Russia has no electricity

In Russia they sing
What a marvelous thing
They never need air conditioning
Birds try to sing
With their beaks chattering
And icicles hanging from their wing

Busses aren't late
They don't run in that state
And for taxis there is no phone to call
But there is no delay
In the Russian subway
Cause subway cars do not run at all

It never hurts
To wear ten undershirts
And twenty socks for your cold toes
One thing won't hurt
There is no snow alert
Just wear some earmuffs on your nose

Your butcher will stick in
A live frozen chicken
And cold dogs to bring your kids and wife
So pack up you rubles
And bring your ice "cubles"
And join us for a great Russian life
